Last summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Brigitte and David’s engagement session in Newport, Rhode Island. We started at 100 Steps with their dog, Darcy, and I could tell right away that this would be a fun session.
Their easy chemistry and playfulness made my job so easy. We wandered through Salve Regina’s campus, where the historic building and greenery provided a great backdrop. Darcy kept things lively, stealing the spotlight more than once with his adorable energy.
Next, we headed to a nearby beach, where the late afternoon light was perfect. Brigitte and David kicked up the sand, laughed, and just enjoyed the moment. It’s always great to photograph couples who are comfortable being themselves.
We ended the session at Bowen’s Wharf as the sun set. The waterfront made for a great final setting, and Brigitte and David walked along the docks, taking it all in. It was the perfect way to wrap up the session.
I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at The Waveny House in New Canaan later this year. Brigitte and David are both book editors, and I cannot wait to see how they weave their own story into the day. With Danielle from Of Elegance Events planning, I know it’s going to be incredible.
