Alexis and Joe’s wedding day in Portland, Connecticut was simply perfect. They chose Saint Clements Castle, a stunning backdrop for their special day. The morning began at The Bridal Suite in Middletown. This place is our favorite location for our Saint Clements Bride’s to get ready. The light is soft, and the room is spacious, making it an ideal location.
Alexis shared a touching moment with her dad during their first look. When he saw her, tears filled his eyes. I could see how proud he was. Then, when Alexis approached Joe for their first look, he could not stop tearing up. Alexis radiates happiness, and it’s clear how deeply Joe loves her. Their laughter together is infectious, making the whole day feel light and fun.
We took their portraits in The Sunken Garden while the prettiest light was shining through the trees. We always look for some shade on warm summer days, and this was an ideal spot. The ceremony was also full of tears and laughter. I really love this newer ceremony location overlooking the Connecticut River. The breeze and scenery were both beautiful. After the ceremony, guests moved to the Courtyard of The Prince Edward ballroom for the cocktail hour. It really feels like you have been transported to Europe. I loved that Alexis and Joe were able to spend the time mingling and laughing with their guests.
The rest of the day was filled with heartfelt speeches, wonderful food, and so much dancing. Congratulations Alexis and Joe!
