Water’s Edge Wedding | Alexa and Joe | Fox and Veil Photography

Alexa and Joe are something special. They laugh all the time. At themselves, at each other, and mostly WITH each other. It certainly makes my job easier. From the very beginning they were really organized with all of their wedding day plans. They knew exactly what mattered most, and what things they weren’t interested in stressing over. The cherry on top was bringing on Krista from A Perfect Little Plan to help coordinate the day. All of our couples who bring on the help of a planner, whether it is full service wedding planning or month of coordination, are able to really savor their wedding day and soak up all of the little moments because their mind isn’t distracted by what needs to be done, or solving problems when something inevitably goes wrong. The more you savor and enjoy, the more we get to capture all of the moments where you are truly in the moment. It really is a win win scenario.

Anyways, the day went so well. Everything took place in Westbrook, CT at Water’s Edge I hadn’t been at this venue in awhile, but it is really lovely having everything take place in one location. The suites where they both got ready were really bright and spacious which we always love. They decided to have a first look and all of their portraits before the ceremony so they could spend as much time as possible with all of their friends and family.

The ceremony was officiated by Alexa’s sweet stepfather, and before I knew it, they said “I do” and were laughing their way back up the aisle to their al fresco cocktail hour. I really loved that every space we were in overlooked the water, especially the cocktail hour patio. After some refreshment and mingling the reception began. There were several beautiful speeches and lots of dancing! Congratulations Alexa and Joe! It really was such a beautiful day on the CT shoreline.
