This summer we had an outrageous amount of rain here in Connecticut. As a wedding photographer, this proved to be pretty challenging. Somehow we had dodged most of the rain this season. Quite a few times the forecast called for rain all afternoon, but it would clear up just in time for the ceremony or it would start raining only during the reception.
On Meredith and Mike’s wedding day it rained ALL day! Thankfully Meredith and Mike chose the Riverview in Simsbury as their wedding venue. After getting ready nearby at The Simsbury Inn, we went to The Riverview for their first look. They had the venue to themselves , so we had so many indoor locations to choose from. With such huge windows in the ballroom we had plenty of beautiful natural light for the majority of their portraits.
The second ballroom was perfect for their indoor ceremony under a traditional Chuppah. Before we knew it, the ceremony was finished, and Meredith and Mike were officially married! We finished a few more portraits before joining cocktail hour. The rest of the evening was a total blast, from incredible speeches, to a “first scoop” instead of a traditional cake cutting.
